GREEN ECO FRIENDLY

Green can mean different things to different people. For some it means simply environmentally friendly and to others means living a life that is not dangerous to the health of people or animals. Direct Democracy is the website that promotes green eco friendly products whether it is green house products or anything that does not contain synthetic elements. When green eco friendly products are used they are not only healthy for the environment and include no toxins, but it can be recycled to help save land fills, and one can do everything possible to live healthy and reduce the impact on planet earth. Direct Democracy emphasises that by living green and going green one reduces any negative impact on the planet in all possible ways. Direct Democracy has defined green eco-friendly which is synonymous to goods and services, laws and guidelines and policies considered to inflict minimal or no harm on the environment. To make consumer aware, Direct Democracy has marked the environmentally friendly goods and services with eco-labels. Direct Democracy has always appealed to people to be green eco-friendly as well as to use eco-friendly products. Direct Democracy has incorporated in its website 10 Green Living Tips for eco- friendly living :
To choose organic produce when one can protect oneself from hazardous chemicals. Non-organic apples, imported grapes, bell peppers and strawberries, in particular, have large amounts of pesticide residue that has been linked to neurological disabilities in children, Parkinson’s disease and Cancer.
To use non-toxic personal care products. Some antibacterial soaps and toothpastes contain a chemical called triclosan that can accumulate inside the human body and may harm health.
To use non-toxic and natural household cleaning products. Many common everyday chemicals can harm health, causing headaches, skin rashes, eye irritation, coughing, wheezing and more.
To choose flea pills for dogs and cats instead of flea collars leave behind hazardous chemicals that can get on skin, furniture and floors and linger in home for a long time. Many of the chemicals have been linked to neurological problems such as learning disabilities in children and Parkinson’s.
To avoid chlorinated household products such as paper towels, toilet paper, and coffee filters because studies have linked chlorine and chlorination by-products to Cancer. Unbleached and recycled products can be found at many stores. Buying tissue paper products made from post-consumer content also helps curb global warming pollution and save forests, water and energy.
To drastically cut the amount of energy computer and monitor use by putting them in sleep mode when they aren’t in use. To avoid screen-savers – those moving images on the monitor that can cost an extra bucks or more of electricity.
To plug television, computer equipment, game consoles and stereos into power strips that can be switched off at night or when not in use.
To replace regular light bulbs with a compact fluorescent lamp (CFL). A CFL costs more upfront than a standard bulb, but in the end can save electricity during its lifetime and it keeps 1 ton of global warming pollution out of the air.
To inflate tires once a month or as necessary. If the tires are properly inflated, several billion gallons of gasoline can be saved a year which will help curb global warming pollution.
To swap a flight for the train. Air travel is one of the fastest growing sources of global warming pollution. The average jet pumps almost 1 ton of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere for every passenger it carries.
